Classes for Kids at Miniature Horse Shows

In the shows, I show in Showmanship.  In that class we are judged by how we present our horse, not how the horse looks.  Sometimes, I show Dimitri in that class, but he doesn't enjoy having to stay still during the whole class so I don't show in it that often!

There are also regular halter classes that judge the way that the horse looks (like a beauty pageant) and color classes that they judge how pretty the horse's color is.  Flower Girl is a pintoloosa (paint and Appaloosa), so she does well when we show her in those classes!  There are also costume classes where you and your horse can dress up!

There are also different driving classes, such as pleasure driving, country pleasure, and roadster.  My favorite driving class is Single pleasure.  Dimitri won Grand Champion Youth Single Pleasure Driving Horse at the AMHA Central Regional Championship show.  I got a new cart too that converts from regular wheels to wooden wheels so we can take one cart and show in country and pleasure classes.

There are also jumping classes, but you have to run with them, instead of riding them.  I show Dimitri, (the black and white gelding that I drive) in hunter and jumper classes.  Dimitri also sometimes preforms in Liberty, which is a class where you turn the horse loose and he performs to music.  Another class the shows offer is obstacle. In this class, you take your horse through an obstacle course  just like big horses do in "trail" classes.  This picture below is of Dimitri, ready for driving, and my friend Cortney's horse, Batman ready for jumping.
