Thursday Kids
Participation in Thursday Kids is by appointment only. If you are interested, contact Tony at LtlAmerica@aol.com or 512 576-5903. If you are a regular participant, please confirm attendance in advance.
Our daughter, Lauren, loves to share her love of the miniature breed with others and in 2005, she came up with an idea to have others come out after school to learn about them. Some have actually worked with the show horses and participated in shows and we have had some fun shows to practice some Thursday afternoons. Participants range from elementary school through high school seniors. Grooming, working with the weanlings, training, cleaning stalls, clipping, working with the new guard dog puppies are just some of the activities that Thursday Kids enjoy.
Kids of all ages who love horses can have a great time and learn more about horses. We request that parents stay for the session.
2012 Show Season
We got a head start on the 2012 show season at the Fort Worth Livestock Show and Rodeo with five of the Thursday Kids. Learn more about how the show went here: 2012 Ft. Worth Stock Show
For their April/May issue, AMHA ran an article in the Miniature Horse World about how Thursday Kids began.
Here are some of our favorite pictures from other shows in 2012.

Gabe also won Reserve High Point Boy 8-12. Gabe also won a stallion in a drawing and Tyler won a driving harness!

2009 Hays County Youth Horse Show
We took five Thursday Kids, nine horses and came home with nine Top Tens showing against mostly big horses. Four of our participants were showing for the first time! Hats off to Lauren, who couldn't come to the show because she is in Washington, D.C., beginning an internship through A&M. Four of the five that she trained for showmanship placed in the Top Ten out of twenty-one entries, one placing third.
